BANANA BREAD GRILLED CHEESE. This may sound crazy, but you have to trust me here! It is so good. This is probably my wildest grilled cheese thus far, but it is so yum.
This clearly isn’t your typical grilled cheese. Since the banana bread is so sweet, we are not using a cheddar or mozzarella. We are using brie cheese! Brie is a soft, mild cheese that pairs perfectly with the sweet banana bread.
Plus, the sugar in the banana bread caramelizes so beautifully and you are left with a toasty, caramelized sweet sammy filled with melty brie.
You can use any kind of banana bread for this grilled cheese. One of my favorite ones is this Sourdough Banana Bread! If you have a sourdough start, I highly recommend that recipe. Otherwise, use your favorite homemade or store bought kind!
