Making Cookies Inspired by TV Shows, Part 7: Hannah Montana!
CALL ME CRAZY BUT THIS CHEESE JERKY COOKIE IS SO GOOD
It’s maple cookie dough, stuffed with a little piece of brie. Brie cheese is very mild and works well with the maple flavor! Then, topped with a maple frosting, with some bacon bits on top! It tastes like a maple bacon donut and is so good!
The cookie is inspired by the iconic Hannah Montana episode where Jackson and Oliver accidentally combine nacho cheese and jerky. Once they realize it is a stellar combination, they start selling it to everyone on the beach! I definitely couldn’t do nacho cheese and jerky in a cookie, but bacon and brie is close enough!

Hannah Montana Cheese Jerky Cookie
ingredients
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tbsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 cup brie cheese
Frosting
- 1 cup butter room temp
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350. Combine the brown sugar, butter, and shortening until well combined and fluffy. Add the eggs and maple syrup and mix until just combined.
- Add the flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch and mix until a dough forms.
- Using a 2 inch cookie dough scoop, poke a hole in the dough and place a small piece of brie inside, closing the dough around it. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes, until the cookie has just set.
- While the cookies are baking, make the frosting. Mix the butter in a stand mixer for 5 minutes, until fluffy. Slowly add the powdered sugar and mix for another 3 minutes. Add the vanilla and maple syrup and mix an additional 3 minutes. Once the cookies are cooled, frost them with the maple frosting and top with bacon bits!
