As part of my series “the United Plates of America,” today we are making toasted ravioli for Missouri! I have driven through Missouri once, but I’ve heard so much about Missouri toasted ravioli! It is a popular appetizer and for good reason because it is GOOD.
The most authentic way to make these is to deep fry them, but I went with the air fryer and they were incredible. The air fryer is also a lot easier to clean up, but if you don’t have an air fryer, deep frying them works great too!
You can make these with whatever kind of ravioli you want. I did spinach and cheese, but some kind of meat and cheese would be amazing too. So pick your favorite kind!
what do we need to make toasted ravioli?
- ravioli
- breadcrumbs
- parmesan
- eggs
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- parsley
- black pepper
- marinara sauce
If you don’t like marinara sauce, just use a different sauce! Depending on what type of ravioli you use, lots of dipping sauces would go great with these. But I do recommend a dipping sauce — it ties it all together!
If you need other fun appetizers, try these:

- 1/3 cup parmesan
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder

- marinara sauce
instructions
- Add breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese to a bowl and mix. In another bowl add eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, and black pepper.
- Dip the ravioli in the egg mixture, then the breadcrumb mixture. If using an air fryer, add coated ravioli to the air fryer tray. Don’t stack any on top of each other.

- Eat with marinara sauce and enjoy!
