most of the mistakes people make with my cookie recipes is incorrectly measuring the flour!! it makes SUCH a big difference fr fr. the most reliable way to measure flour is with a kitchen scale, so if you don’t have one i highly recommend getting one — you can get them for very cheap. but! if you refuse a kitchen scale, for sure use one of the (correct) methods i showed here!

i vividly remember as a kid how satisfying it was to scrape the flour off the top of a measuring cup after packing it in hahah but it really just isn’t worth it. it gives you almost 25% more flour than you want which is bonkers!

if you want to make it the most true to emi’s version, make sure you massage the dough at least 6 times hahah.

but really this banana bread is !!!!!!! the tahini adds a slight nutty flavor that takes it up a notch. it’s soft and moist and perfect.

graduation + life update!! connor graduated from

graduation + life update!!

connor graduated from harvard law school yesterday and i couldn’t be more proud of him!! and i’ll pat myself on the back for constantly fueling him with food for the last 3 years so he could make it through hahah.

connor’s dream is to work in sports, and he’s accepted a position working for RSL & the Royals (the professional soccer teams in salt lake city, ut)!! so we are moving to utah at the end of this summer! so get ready to help me find the best cookie in utah later this year hahah.

so excited for all our adventures to come!! love you all! 💗

this bowl is !!!! since connor didn’t give all the details, here they are: kale tossed with a lemon tahini dressing, farro, slow roasted sesame salmon, snap peas, and hot honey pecans! i suggest making a double batch of the hot honey pecans cause they are 🤩

cookie science: egg yolks vs whites!

this was a fun one!! the egg yolks added such a rich, dense texture and flavor. then egg whites add a lot of moisture and structure. for the perfect “soft on the inside, crunchy on the edges” cookie, a normal egg is perfect because you get some of both!

we are finally done with eggs and will be saying goodbye to the egg hat — she has served us well. next up is flour!

whole roast chicken w pineapple salsa!!

whole chickens can seem SCARY but they’re really not that hard to make i promiseeee. plus they always turn out so juicy and this one is especially flavorful!

the marinade for this chicken is bright and fresh, with a bit of a kick. it pairs perfectly with the pineapple salsa (which is so yummy, btw) and is such a great dinner.

teaching emi how to cook/bake, part 2!

this definitely wasn’t the smoothest process, but we had so much fun! also, fyi, if you put a 1 year old in front of a bowl of batter (with raw eggs & flour) they’re going to want to eat it lolol.

we made tahini banana bread (recipe coming soon!!) and despite the extra massaging of the batter by emi, it turned out great! my fav moment is when emi swipes the tahini, after checking it i’m watching her hahaha i love her so much.

the apron she wore is my very first apron ever!! it makes me so happy to see her wearing it 🥹🥹

lemon raspberry white chocolate cookies!!

i have been on a lemon kick recently, and i’m not mad about it. these cookies are fresh and soft and seriously taste like summer!!!!

the brown butter works so well with the lemon zest and the fresh raspberries give it a tart bite that balances everything out. i’m so exciteddddd for you to try these and can’t wait to hear what you think!
